Who are CEBUS?

Up to a few years ago, CEBUS was a company dealing purely in software development. In 2002, we founded a new business branch and became directory publishers in addition. Our experience in developing good software for organization and client support helped us a great deal in taking this step.

Currently, we are seeking staff for our Swiss company. This is in Herisau in the Steig-Center near St. Gallen by Lake Constance.

Maling Lists for advertising and success

What is a directory publisher or a list broker?

Good advertising starts with good addresses. Our clients know this too. If we receive an enquiry - usually directly via the Internet - we look for the best mailing lists from over 100 sources.
Company and private addresses, from Germany, Italy and the whole of Europe. Then we inform our clients about suitable stocks, name prices and conditions and negotiate with the address owner, the so-called list owner. We negotiate a good price and obtain clearance for the addresses to be used by our client in an advertising campaign.
This can sometimes be hectic - frequent telephone calls, e-mails and reminders are the basis of day-to-day business.

List brokers have to be versatile

What is the work like?

A frequent change in activities should be more in your nature than a regular working day. So here is some detail:
> Independent preparation and calculation of offers.
> Independent processing of client correspondence via e-mail.
> Telephone briefing: Why do you recommend a particular address stock? What is the best target group for your client's planned advertising campaign? What are the alternatives? What price can your client accept?
> Negotiating with list owners (purchase): How many records can be delivered? Which are optimal for the client's requirements? What purchase price is available?
> Screening of various data banks, undertaking counts, import, export, checking address stocks and allocation. As you can see, the tasks are so varied that we can completely do without skills like "making coffee". But we cannot really dispense with quick and competent telephone response to client enquiries and independent preparation of correspondence. We'll show you how it works.

Intelligence, education and a way with words

What are the conditions?

The most important requirements are healthy common sense and a good general education. A quick grasp, negotiation ability, confidence on the telephone, good office organizational skills and precise written expression should be a part of your nature. You should know how business and companies function generally.
For our international clients, confident English skills are indispensible. It's an important plus point f you are confident in another foreign language.
If your English is nearly perfect (native) - spoken and written - then you don't have to also be able to speak German. It's an important plus point if you are confident in another foreign language.
It's obvious to us that these conditions will be best fulfilled by someone who has gathered years of commercial work experience in important positions.
So we have been able to gather positive experiences with staff who are 35+ that have occupied commercially-relevant positions*.

* This does not mean, however, that other applicants are at a disadvantage.

Working time models that allow room for family

What are the working hours?

Your clients expect you to be available daily - from Monday to Friday. That does not mean that you have to be present the whole day as during quiet times, a few hours are often enough to answer your client's enquiries.
Working hours can easily be a problem for staff that are used to a regular working day. We agree on a quarterly working pensum of 380 to 500 hours according to what you prefer. This corresponds to about 30 to 40 hours per week. Due to seasonal fluctuations and advertising measures, it can also be significantly more one month - and bring a week's extra "vacation" in the following month. Generally, the input can be planned on time so there is also enough time for your private obligations.
Working hours don't begin until 9am and end between 5pm and 6pm due to international contacts. On Fridays, we usually already finish at 3pm.

No one is born a list broker

Will I be trained?

Naturally, we invest in your training as list broker. Depending on the fundamentals that you bring with you, we can train you so that you will be a big help in a month's time. This costs you nothing, but you will also earn less during this period.
Suitable applicants can also get to know the work through an internship.

You like short ways to work?

We offer you the opportunity to work in a home office

Not everyone can or wants to work at home. If you have your own home office at home with wireless network and can work with concentration and undisturbed, we are happy to talk to you about this.
We could imagine you being in your home office, for example, two days a week after having gone through training.

Short ladders

What are my chances of promotion?

If you are looking for a ladder to promotion at CEBUS, then we have to disappoint you. The ladder is short. The highest thing you can become with us is a client!

If you would like to get to know CEBUS and learn about the work involved, we are happy for you to try out the workplace, colleagues and tasks for up to 3 days from 12 noon to 6pm.

Managing the income

What can I earn?

It's obvious that you have to bring in significantly higher value to the company than what you want to earn yourself. If you can negotiate with clients and suppliers easily and make clients happy, you will naturally earn more.
