In a decision on liability for internet links dated May 12, 1998 - 312 O 85/98 – the regional court (LG) in Hamburg ruled that the publication of a link to a website could lead to shared liability for the content of the linked site. The court stated that this could only be avoided if an explicit disclaimer is made in relation to the content of the linked site.
